Julia Scheer has practiced law more than twenty five years.  She is a respected family law attorney and  handles all matters related to divorce including child custody and support, equitable distribution/property issues, spousal support/alimony, separation agreements, and domestic violence protective orders. She is an experienced courtroom attorney and highly skilled negotiator.

Ms. Scheer graduated (with distinction) with a major in Political Science from Indiana University in 1991. She graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston in 1995. At Northeastern University School of Law, her academic success was recognized when she was selected as a teaching assistant for the legal research and writing class required to be taken by first year law students. Ms. Scheer moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1995 and established her own solo practice in 1996, concentrating in family law and criminal law. Since 2005, Ms. Scheer has practiced exclusively in the family law area.

Ms. Scheer devotes her practice solely to family law matters and works one-on-one with her clients to resolve these all-important personal matters. Whether the problem is the dissolution of your marriage, where the children are going to live, or who gets to keep the home, Ms. Scheer gives her personal attention to every aspect of every case.  Respect for what is at stake and the readiness to work until her clients’ needs are met are touchstones of how she practices law. Stress and conflict often run high in family law cases.  As a mother, she is sensitive to the problems and emotions which parents and children face in these difficult matters. Whenever possible, she will seek out solutions which minimize court battles and provide constructive long term solutions.  When trials become unavoidable, Ms. Scheer brings more than 25 years of courtroom experience to bear in order to get the best possible result for her clients.
